I HATE SILHOETTES!

What makes me mad are all these silhouettes on dating sites. Why oh why don't people just upload a photo of themselves. Who are these silhouettes? Married men I expect! Hmmmmm...!

Also if they do upload a photo then I want it to be a RECENT photo of themselves. And yes, I mean recent. Not five, not ten, not 15 years out of date. It's all very well telling me this photo was taken was I was 38, but now I'm 55, I email the fellow anyway. Ask him to send me a current photo of himself, and what does he do? Block me, that's what! B. cheek!

I'm sick and tired or scrolling down these faceless faces. And gentlemen please, what's the point of putting a photo of yourself taken 15 feet from the camera. I can't see you! Use some common sense!

So now you've read about this lady's experience of meeting a Silhoeete and finding out he has no front teeth, you decide you will stick to photographs in future.

But they too can be fraught with surprise and dismay!

I speak of the lady who has seen 'Are you my soulmate's' photo. Yes, very handsome she decides, and they have things in common too. The usual emailing goes on backwards and forwards, then the date arranged.

She recognises him immediately over the sea of faces in the bar. Yes, that's him, but he seems to be fatter in the face. 'Ah well', she thinks to herself ' she's a few pounds overweight too'.

Then her 'Soulmate draws nearer and nearer to her though the crowds. Then she sees ... He is OBESE. No not obese, she corrects herself. Megga obese. Megga megga obese! The obese you see in documentarys.

She doesn't know what to do. At first she is angry because he has deceived her by putting on his profile, a photograph of himself years out of date, then she feel guilty for not being willing to date an obese man, then she feels sorry for him being so fat, then as he introduces himself embarressed.

The lady is ashamed to admit but whilst he was going to the bar to get them both a drink she made a sharp exit. She regrets that decision she made, and she said if she was in the same position again, she would at least stay for one drink.

I have just been reading a book about true life experiences on dating sites. What an eye opener!

Take for instance the lady who had been emailing Mr Silhouette, who after reading his profile (wasn't he a lucky guy, many wouldn't without a photo) and then chatting on the phone decided they had much in common.

Excited and nervous she waited with trepidation outside a well-known building.'What would he look like'? she wondered ...

Said man arrives. Not bad, the lady thinks, why didn't he upload a photo?

Then he smiles, and guess what, no front teeth! Nough said.

Lady made a hasty exit courtesy of the ladies toilet after the obligatory cup of coffee.
