God giveth, God taketh away, God giveth ....Peanut

I felt great grief at the loss of guniea pig Poppet. See GUINEA PIG EMERGENCY.

I decided to buy another guinea pig.I wondered in bed on the night Poppet passed away, what name I could call him/her. The first name that came to mind was Peanut.

The weather was bad so I went by taxi the next day to a pet shop. I had decided on which guinea pig to buy when the shop assistant told me that a little baby boy guinea pig had arrived and was on his own in the back of the shop and would I be interested.

As soon as I saw him it was love at first sight! Butterscotch coloured and tiny with large soft melting brown eyes he looked absolutely adorable. The lady assistant placed him in my arms and he rested there comfortabley as if we had known each other a long time.

"He has a lovely calm disposition" said the assistant "and he certainley seems happy and content in your arms" she added.

His skin was soft and silky like honeyed silk. I remembered the name Peanut that had so surprisingly come to mind when I was deliberating on names the night before.

So Peanut it was.

Peanut has settled into his new home wonderfully. Has a healthy appetite and loves charging round his cage and doing little jumps in the air. Jumping in the air means that he is happy.

I am so thrilled to have Peanut, and thankful to God for giving him to me.

Peanut is the BEST Christmas present I could wish for, and it is going to be lovely to have his happy joyous presence with me over Christmas and the New Year.

God taketh way, God giveth .... Peanut my little treasure of joy!
