I find religious dogma a real drag and wonder how intelligent people could live their lives narrowly based on the writings in a book. However, I do feel the spiritual excitement when I do go to the right synagogue.
How's this for family: at least one great-grandfather was a rabbi, the went the opposite direction when the family emmigrated and became almost athiest. My parents were only lightly observant but are now involved with a Humanist Synagogue. One sister's family almost keeps kosher and speaks Yiddish, the other helped found a reconstructionist synagogue. I like the occasional visit to Beth Jacob in Mendota.
I'm a creative person into photography, writing, publishing, art and music. I have a BFA in film and am considering grad school for photography. I've worked in film production for ten years.
I like to read all types of books and certain periodicals, tending towards the off-beat. Mostly though I'm a music addict and listen to music from all over the world.
I'm 49 but easily pass for low thirties. I'm definitely youthful in mind and spirit. I've had five-year olds tell me I'm too silly. Point being, don't be afraid to get in touch. We're starting out with email and nothing is etched in stone.
Currently my schedule is flexible and I am willing to travel some.
My Ideal Person
You're down to earth, sensual, honest and spiritually minded. You enjoy 'real' music, reading, the better movies, trips to Lake Superior. You're physically fit and proportionate, meaning you could have a large body, you're just not obese. You don't smoke tobacco, and don't drink too much. If you favor Bush don't bother contacting me. You may also have some college education but at least know the difference between 'there,' 'their,' 'they're,' and, 'your,' 'you're,' 'your's.' Okay, I'm sort of kidding but sort of serious too. I look forward to hearing from you.
