:-) I am very masculine, in shape & mature for my age and do not tolerate nonsense very well. Joking around sometimes can be fun, but there is a time and a place. I'm not a "game-player," nor do I tolerate "game-players or immature men."
The manly-type of guys I have been most attracted to or could relate with has been Italians, Whites, Greeks and Afro-Americans. These are my preference; however not a requirement! :-)

Yes, I do go to the bar on occassions, because being single can be boring and lonely. However, I spend my time there catching up on the lastest music tracks. I guess some would classify me as a "fly against the wall." :-) My reasoning for going to bars is to be amongst other guys that are like me. If someone comes over and start up a conversation, that's wonderful; however, if it doesn't happen I am just as content.
As with most guys, I had my share of relationships and experiences; however, now I am looking to embark on something more meaningful and long-lasting.
In my spare time, I like listening to various types of music, i.e., country, R&B, jazz and gospel. Artists like Randy Travis, Shanti Twain, Nelly, Whitney, Sean Paul, Will Downing, Joshua Redman, etc. are just a few of my musical choices.
As a hobby, I enjoy cooking for people and traveling to other countries, volunteering my services, and spending time continuing to educate myself about various aspects of life. When opportunity affords itself, I enjoy communicating with others about various issues in the world and diverse topics.
On the first date, I like to spend time getting to know the person. This means effective communication is a two way street. :-) Then, just letting things happen naturally. I am a person that does not set an agenda about how things should go or develop expectation of someone else. It's my objective to let the person be himself.
Currently, I live alone in Oxon Hill, Maryland, since 2003. I moved to the DC metro area in 1997 and been in the area every since.

The candidate that will capture my eye/heart will be possess integrity, character and willingness to commit or be str8 forward about his intentions. NO BSing around!!!

The guy who elects to engage in an ongoing communication with me MUST take pride in his personal hygiene and appearance. No, I am not looking for a "GQ model" or a Mel Gibson, but I do hope that the guy has a sense of self-respect to make sure everything is in place and is not obese. Also, he MUST be a MAN, not feminine or "queenie-type." I do not have anything against guys like that, but it's just not my type. Sorry!!!
The potential candidate should possess a level of assertiveness and implement a level of dominance. Keeping in mind, we are both men therefore, it is almost certain that there will be some clashing at times. However, we must work together to get through it!!! 
he should be the dominate type or the TOP/Versatile type that is willing to be forceful or initiate action in the bedroom and on several aspects of the decision-making process.
