I learned my way around Venice, Italy in an afternoon, yet still need a map to get around Venice Beach. Being better with foreign directions than domestic ones might not sound useful, but I’ve been exploring the world since I took a graduation trip to Israel after high school. Accepting my unusual navigation abilities is one example how I can find the positive side of any situation. And wherever I travel, I try to take a ghost tour of the city I’m visiting. Beside it being hilarious, it’s fascinating to take a moonlit tour of the Alamo and explore the unique history behind Dublin’s city walls. You never know what you may find out. But I don’t always need to get out of L.A. to find myself. I’m also very much a local girl. From laughing at The Groundlings to cheering on my niece and nephews at their soccer games, I love living where I can do both in the same weekend. So if you have a good local sense of direction, maybe between the two of us the only place we’ll get lost is in each other’s eyes.
My Ideal Person:
You are the Wesley to my Buttercup. You take dogs over cats any day. You’re as comfortable wearing jeans and t-shirt out as you are wearing a sport coat to meet my parents. You leave little love notes for me to discover where I least expect them. You’re more turned on than threatened by smart girls. You appreciate how insanely great my chili is. You don’t need to kill a six-pack to enjoy a football game with me. You may not be religious, but hopefully you like a good brisket. You’ve at least considered meditation. You load songs you think I’d like on my iPod. Your passport is valid because you never know when you might win a big trip abroad. You pull the car up close so I don’t get wet when it’s raining. You indulge my love of quirky photography. Your couch wishes you were home more to sit in it, but when you’re home, you’re happy to oblige. You talk to your family more often than just on birthdays. If you don’t have kids of your own already, the thought interests you. You don’t make me play twenty questions to guess why you’re upset. We drive each other crazy in all the right ways.
